P x O x S x ! Alernative Short Board

P x O x S x !

Where do I start with this board? First off, and for the record, I never really wanted to shape this thing!! But anyhow, here's the backstory on the NEW legendary POS.

Local rippers and LA County Lifeguards Daniel Lazar and Joe Rickabaugh brought me a beater they were riding. Daniel found it on Craigslist and was having a ton of fun riding it. Joe claimed, "it's the best board ever". They wanted me to replicate it, I laughed and said, "no way," I had no interest in replicating or updating their newfound "best board ever". And then Joe kept talking about how well the board surfed in mediocre conditions and how much fun he was having on it. That's when I decided to take another look. After giving the board, a second look I thought with a few tweaks I could make it even better. And viola, tweaks in place and the POS was born. The first time you throw the board under your arm and give it a once over you will think this board is not very sexy, as a matter of fact it’s really ugly. It has a wide outline, thick boxy rails, double bumped hips leading into a wide diamond tail. It doesn't look like it would work well, but it does!! The POS is super fun for small to medium sized waves at either point breaks or beach breaks. How does it ride?? It glides into gutless, weak surf and then takes off with a ton of speed, control, and flowy rail to rail transitions while releasing the fins at will in the lip. Stock boards come as a tri fin. We\’ve been playing around with a quad option. The difference, between the tri and quad are noticeable as a quad tames down the fin release and offers solid drive and great rail burying turns. Both as a tri or a quad the POS loves to climb the foam and floats dreamy lips with ease. Ride the POS with 5% -15% more volume and plus or minus 3” from your standard shortboard. And thank Daniel and Joe the next time you see them in the tower or the water.
